I’ve been involved in sports and fitness all my life. The majority of my younger years were as a competitive gymnast, as well as playing on all the school sports teams.
I've been both personal and group training for over 12 years. I've had the opportunity to work with a variety of clientele over the years including; competitive fitness athletes, strength athletes, weight loss, managing exercise with chronic disease, rehabilitation from injuries and active seniors!
What brought me to the Core5 program here at the Athlete Institute was its ability to embrace all of levels fitness, from beginners to the more experienced gym goer.
With a program still in its infancy, the progress of the members is exciting to watch! A community is being built through its supportive and motivating membersalong side the educated coaching staff. It's a supportive and fun atmosphere to carry out your fitness and well-being goals!

Linda is a lifelong fitness enthusiast who has participated in sports ranging from distance running to martial arts. She trained friends and family who would come to her for fitness advice in her home gym for almost 10 years.
After moving to a new home she needed a new gym. Linda joined Athlete Institute in 2015 and attended her first Crossfit class. It was love at first WOD! The welcoming community, team spirit, exceptional coaching combined with the multifaceted sport of fitness that is Crossfit was a perfect fit. The addition of Core5’s HIIT programming has added a new dimension to Linda's fitness training - for both herself and Athlete Institute members.
Linda brings thoughtful instruction and careful observation to her coaching and her enthusiasm is contagious! Linda is the strongest and fittest she has ever been thanks to Crossfit and now Core5.
If it doesn’t challenge you it won't change you! Come out and be challenged!

I have always had a fascination with the human body and how it works. Since I played a lot of sports growing up, I was often the one people came to for advice on which muscles they should stretch or what to do for an injury. I enjoyed the position of “team trainer” so I decided to follow through with it as a career! I have since been a team trainer, a soccer coach and worked in physiotherapy for eight years. I have been personal training in client's homes and at the Athlete Institute since 2003.
While these days I am only at the gym part time as I am busy running the family kitchen business my passion has always been fitness. I have trained many different people of different ages and with different goals. Whether they are trying to get on a pro soccer team, getting active to be healthy, post rehab or maintaining their fitness level, the rewards are the same. It’s amazing to see someone as they set their goals and the pride they have when they have accomplished something that took hard work. The fact that I get to be involved when a person sees those results makes my job rewarding! I think it is important to challenge yourself and continue to set goals for yourself!
My goals have changed over the years, especially while having my three children, but I still have pushed myself in new ways. On top of playing hockey, soccer and working out regularly, I run trail and obstacle course races. I have a few highlights over the years, including winning the Women's Indoor Soccer Championship All-Star, OCAA All Academic Award for Athletic and Academic Excellence and was nominated for Athlete of the year while in College. Winning the all female category one year with my team in the ESAR lite, placing in the top ten Elite Female heat and recently qualifying and racing in the OCR world championships and North American Championships have been accomplishments in my training that keep me focused on getting better each year. My goal is to push myself to be stronger and faster. Core5 and CrossFit are excellent additions to my training to accomplish them. Can't wait to see you there!
