The Future of CrossFit Combine
CrossFit Combine is now under new management and heading in a new direction. We are excited to not only announce our new highly-qualified CrossFit trainers, but to also share with you our brand-new, expanded schedule that will be effective Monday June 8, 2015.
First, meet our trainers:
As a child growing up in Orangeville, Tyler always played competitive sports (both hockey and soccer). In fact, he attended University in Buffalo, New York on a soccer scholarship where he attained his Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry. Since graduating, Tyler has spent years gaining as much experience and education in the field of health and fitness, focusing on strength training, movement mechanics, and athletic training. On a personal level, he has pursued his passion for health and fitness by participating in athletics and competitive endurance events such as the 24-hour World’s Toughest Mudder.
With more than 7 years experience training both males and females, of all ages and skill levels, Tyler has a tremendous interest and passion for understanding an individual’s unique needs and goals, and then designing an effective training program to help them succeed.

After working in Toronto for several years in the finance industry, he joined up with Jesse Tipping in 2010 to start the Athlete Institute. Due to his athletically oriented background playing football, basketball, golf, and baseball at St. Andrews College, getting the chance to work with athletes and CrossFitters was a perfect fit.
Adam’s strength and conditioning expertise began at IMG Academies in Florida, where he became a Ignite360 Certified Trainer and studied directly from coaches such as Todd Durkin (trainer to Drew Brees and Aaron Rogers), Steve Hess (Denver Nuggets strength coach), and Peter Twist (CEO Twist Conditioning and former Vancouver Canucks strength coach). Since then Adam has become a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and a TPI Certified Golf Fitness Instructor.

Our regular CrossFit classes, with upgrades. Now that we have new trainers, and focusing on improving our program, each class will consist of dedicated warm-ups targeted at getting you prepared for that day's WOD. Strength and skill work will be geared towards learning the progressions and modifications for the standard CrossFit movements.
Our metabolic conditioning will begin to transition to a percentage-based platform. Rather than set amounts of weight or resistance for all members across the board, we will begin to focus on training per the individual based on each individuals rep maxes. Don't know what your lifting maxes are? Don't worry, we will work towards those as well.
New to CrossFit or are unsure about the intensity of our regular CrossFit classes? Not to worry, CrossFit Lite will help transition you while still practicing our primary movement patterns. Each class will begin with longer strength and skill sessions working on the fundamentals, taught by our highly-qualified instructors. If this scheduling works for you and you enjoy these classes, you are more than welcome to stay in our CrossFit Lite program for as long as you wish. Another option is to progress through this program and make your way into our standard CrossFit classes.
Each week will focus on a different lift (Deadlift, Front Squat, Back Squat, Clean, Snatch, etc.), and will be taught by trainer Tyler Robbins who is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and USA Weightlifting Certified Coach. Regardless of how long you have been a CrossFitter, nearly everyone will be able to benefit from these lessons.
Our Open Gym hours are being extended to accommodate various work and life schedules. Come on in and use the facilities during as you need to during our extended hours!
CrossFit Chipper/Partner WODs
We will alternate Saturday classes between our CrossFit Chipper and CrossFit Partner WODs every week.
CrossFit Chipper is a series of movements strung together at high volume. In other words, this will be our toughest and most gruelling workout of the week. This may not be something you do every Saturday (it will wear you down), but consider this your challenge to test yourself every once in a while. Can't make it on Saturday? Come on in during Open Hours during the week to "chip" away then.
Partner WODs will be similar to our Chippers but at least you will have the pleasure of being in misery with a partner. Invite a friend and come test yourself with our toughest workouts yet!
Oh by the way, Chippers and Partner WODs will not be posted the day prior on our Facebook page like our weekly WODs, they will be kept a secret. You must commit to coming in a giving it your all!
